The fifth company: Blue in Green Recycling and Manufacturing Company:
The new green quality-focused product are recycle plastics, since the collaborative companies are SONY Handycam and Pentax. Most of the products of these two companies are similar to each others. They consume a large number of plastics for producing cameras or video recorders. My company plan is to bring a huge number of waste plastic from all around the world to recycle and to invent to a new shape, design and develop the quality of recycle plastic to replace the traditional way that use the new plastic for making a new camera.
Regarding to my experience, I had studied about Plastic Processing Technology; Thermofroming, Injection Molding and Extrusion with advance technology plastic machine in University of Wisconsin-Platteville also had an experience with polymeric, ceramic, synthetic and composite material. These vary kind of plastic experience showed me that the trend of plastic consuming have increased for several decades. A lot of new plastic products were produced to wide range with many advantages. For example, the car’s body plastics used to replace the metal material to reduce the car’s weight that can help save cost of fuel, also save the cost of material and it is more desirable. This example can show the reason of the increasing of plastic product consuming.
However, since the trend of plastic using has been increased, nowadays, it creates the problem that everyone must realize is the waste plastic. A huge number of waste plastic can cause a lot of problem because the plastic will spend hundred years to deteriorate and the accumulation of waste plastic affects to the environment, wildlife ecosystem, marine life and human habitat.
I believe that the effective method to solve the plastic is to reduce plastic consuming or to make the waste of plastic is reusable. This is the reason why I desired to start the new business that involve with recycle plastic. Another reason that base on my work experience, since I graduated in Electrical Engineering and had been working as sales engineer in industrial field make me interest in automation manufacturing technology. And the third collaborative company is SEW Eurodrive that can help my company to create effective automation machine to recycling the waste plastic and to produce that new plastic with very detailed design and also increase the volume of production. So, I’m very lucky to get good collaborative companies that can be high potential customers and good supplier. The last company IMTS can help my to do the marketing strategy to advertise the product company.
In conclusion, I strongly assert that my new company will be able to sustain the environment by inventing and producing the new kind of recycle plastic product that will reduce the air, land and sea pollution and also sustain the environment of wildlife, marine life with cooperating from the four companies that I have receive from that eLearning Package.
Collaboration with Other Companies:
There are three main part of my company working on. These two main part can make my company more competitive and also sustain the environment.
The first part is to work with a large number of waste plastic for the process of recycle. The second part is to develop the plastic qualifications and to design with innovation. That will add value of the product. The last part is about the producing by using the automation processing system.
In the case of collaborative companies.
SONY Handycam: This company produces the Video Camera Recorders, the company consumes a lot of plastic materials. Tons of plastic have been used to produce camera’s body. The company is concern to be a potential customer to buy recycle plastic product. Sony Handycam has dimensions of quality in term of features, brandname also durability of product.
Pentax Camera Lens: This company product is similar to the Sony Handycam, it is also categorized in a Potential customer who consume a large number of plastic to produce body of camera and camera lens. Dimensions of this company are Feature of product quality and the performance of camera body.
SEW Eurodrive: The company supplies inverter, drive automation and service furthermore, this company is system integrator. It can support my company work in automation system. The experience of industrial automation of SEW Eurodrive can provide up-to-date manufacturing technology to design the plastic recycle machines and plastic processing machine. Moreover, there is a possibility to be a partner for inventing a new kind of plastic producing machine. Serviceability and reliability are dimensions quality of the company.
International Manufacturing Technology Show, IMTS: To start a new business, it is very necessary to make marketing advertisement to promote the company and to create connection with other companies. Annually attending the IMTS exhibition will help the company to find good partner, customer and suppliers. IMTS has dimensions of quality in term of brandname and serviceability of its exhibition.
Dimension of Quality:
Brand Name Quality: The brand name of the BGRM is very important part the shows what are the main purposes and activities of the company regarding to reusable materials to be produced with creative design and innovated processing. This name also help the customer to remind the company’s main products.
Features: The important features of the company is to reduce the waste plastic that might pollute the environment and cause the harmful to wildlife. Another important feature is to produce the innovative products that will change the way of using camera.
Performance & Reliability: The Company will focus on customer need and amount of sold items to measure the performance. In the case of reliability, the company will work following the requirement of LEED certificates. Another part of performance is the energy generating rate from renewable plant in the company's area.
Durability & Serviceability: All of the process will be tested and controlled by the engineering team and the partner from collaborative companies. After all processes are approved, we will focus on the final product which the quality control and quality assurance engineers will take responsibilities.
Safety Quality: All of the employees are required to attend safety course regarding to the OSHA safety requirement. All the gadgets and machines will be tested in term of safety using. The safety issue is the important aspect of the company that can be divided in the term of employee safety, the processing machines also require to conform the safety standard. Lastly, the final product need to ensure that it's clean and no contaminate sine it's made from waste plastic.
Aesthetics: This dimension will be generated by the R&D and design engineer, the product will design lean to the demography in various genders and ages. The color will be the main innovative from BGRM Company that can make various option to the customers. The design of product will lean to the customer requirements that collaborative companies will help out.
Conformance to Standard: There are many standards that company will conform regarding to each function and part. Nevertheless, the collaborative companies, Sony and Ricoh, will help BGRM manufacturing department to improve the product standard.
Conformance of Eco Standards: In this case, we will separate in two major eco part, raw materials and renewable energy. The product of BGRM will be made by the waste plastic that definitely help the ecosystem to reduce the environmental problem from waste. Another concern is about manufacturing process that will mainly use renewable energy from the solar and wind plants which are created in the company area.

ISO TQM Standard Principle 1: Customer Focus
The virtual company customers are Sony Handycam and Pentax lens. These two companies have consumed a large number of plastic. These two companies require for a high quality material for desirable final product to satisfied their customer expectation
ISO TQM Standard Principle 2: Leadership
For start-up phase, the high experiences managers will be need to manage employees and make a tough decision. Also HR manager also have a lot of tasks to create unity and make create the good environment in company. The project manager must be trained by PMI institute to manage the sub-ordinaries.
ISO TQM Standard Principle 3: Involvement of People
Create knowledge data base in office to help the company workers improve their potential and capability to use the automation machine. Since the company focuses on innovation and creativity, work place must be arranged to create healthy environment. Lastly, the most important part is educating and encouraging all of the employees to concern about green engineering and sustainable.
ISO TQM Standard Principle 4: Process Approach
Focus on automation and recycle technology, that will make high quality product and capability of production. These two technologies will be worth since trend of plastic raw materials cost and labor cost are continuously increasing in the United States. The BGRM producing process will create innovation by applying automation technology to all of manufacturing process.
ISO TQM Principle 5: Systems Approach to Management
Concentrate at workers knowledge first and try to improve the processing, the company will create the procedure to the new employee to work lean toward the company's policy and more create innovation. The production system is the most important part in BGRM, we believe that the productive system should be control with experienced and more knowledge people.
ISO TQM Principle 6: Continual Improvement
The company will put attention on automation technology since it continuously updates in everyday, we believe that the green technology can improve and recover the ecosystem. We also invest in renewable energy, solar energy, wind energy, that ca be helpful for the company cost in the future.
ISO TQM Principle 7: Factual Approach to Decision Making
Making a decision by group of manager, creating the procedure of decision making will help manager to make a decision. Decision making process will control the direction of company, it needs the people who has high experience and well educated to make decisions base on lean to sustainable environment.
ISO TQM Principle 8: Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relationships
Finding the partnership that can share the processing experiences to help the company create the new way of recycle plastic production. The collaborative company, Eurodrive, will be the supplier who provide the production machine part and energy saving system hardware.

After I watched a plenty of video clips from professor Ranky, I was very impressed the beautiful of natural under the deep blue sea. Moreover, these video clip helped me to get an idea to present the objective of my virtual company for go green and sustainable.
For presentation, I will show the video of life under the sea. And then present the process of how the plastic will pollute the environment. The waste of plastic can be harmful to many kinds of natural life. First, air pollution of plastic burning will create greenhouse effect that is one of the reason to the global warming problem that will affect to all life in the world. Second, it can pollute marine life when someone throw waste plastic to the sea or the beach. It obliviously destroys the green environment. Nowadays, there are a huge number of articles that concern and educate people about the environment. I believe that most of people today realizes the problem and want to save the marine life and forest.
My virtual company will help the environment by reuse the waste plastic and also reduce the pollution from plastic burning. Also, it will save the company cost from buying new raw material. Moreover, green energy will be concern by solar energy and wind turbine nevertheless, it’s depend on the location of factory to adapt to the green energy.
Even it might spend a lot of cost for green energy project but I believe that it will be good for environment and ecosystem. And, it will be worth in long term since and good for investment.
In conclusion, I believe that most of people will realize the crucial of natural and why we should focus on sustainable and green energy that will sustain and reserve the ecology system. Including with my presentation that shows the number of waste plastic that is generating environment problem and potential reduction rate that can sustain the environment.
Summary of Videos in eLeaning Pack:
Video1: I-beam Roller Quality:
The video illustrates I-Beam, two trolleys and a bolt. Each of the trolley has two bearings and two rollers. Due to Lack of Quality Control both the trolleys work differently. The rollers in one trolley are fitted perfectly, but in the other, the roller is stuck as the cast has been bent more due to hammering. Thus the stuck roller is unable to rotate and causes friction. This shows poor designing and poor implementation.
The safety and packaging of the brand new material has been compromised to make it low cost equipment and the safety instructions and warning on the manual are missing; instead a soiled manual is packaged. This is a perfect example of Lack of Quality Assurance. Focusing on the roller, one of the wheel in the roller does not spinning that creates fiction between the roller and I-beam. The risky from the low quality product is caused by the poor quality manufacturing control and cheap product design. The fiction from the rollers and I-beam will make the movement unstable and make the process are not sustainable. Another point is the product manual, as you can see in the video, the product manual is very dirty that illustrate the products is made from the company that doesn't not care about the package quality, it also shows that this company has bad environment.
In conclusion, by compromising on design, manufacturing, testing, safety and skilled labor, no company can succeed in a long term business. Hence, I will learn from this example that cost saving does not necessarily earn profit. Instead making a good quality product helps the company sustain and progress towards a better future. I have also learnt that Quality Control is an important aspect and should not be neglected.
Video2: Palua M2012 Long Lake Kayaking Tour:
This video showed the beauty of the kayak trip, the environment that was very impressive. The trip went around some very interesting rock islands, through a channel in the mangroves, and even into a secret lake. The water is so clear, the vegetation so green, and the sounds of cicadas and wildlife so loud, that you cannot help but want to experience it in person.
As beautiful as it is, we are also reminded about how fragile it all is as well. It is great for us to have this video to watch, and must have been even better for Prof Ranky to be there filming it. If man is not care and continues using unsustainable processes, video like this one could be all that remains at some point in the future.The dimensions of quality noted for Sam’s Tours are features, performance, aesthetics, excitement quality, and conformance to eco-standards.
The sustainable and green quality aspect useful for my “5th company” is reinforcement that my processes must be sustainable so that future generations can also enjoy such beautiful places.This video encourage me to make a summer trip for kayaking and sea diving. Nevertheless, first thing that is not sustainable that is grilling sausage and chicken by charcoal. The charcoal is made from carbon and burning the charcoal will pollute the environment around there. Another point is noise, even the speedboat is convenient for traveling with few people but, it makes high noise that might disturb the fish and sea life. So, in my opinion I think that it would be better if we can reduce the noise engine from speedboat.
Video3: Not Green Generator:
In this video, the generator sets in the nice and beautiful area is working and making the loud noise. The environment looks clean and green with air pollution and water pollution and the water body nearby is absolutely clean. But there is problem, the generators makes a lot of noise thereby not confirming the required standards. The pipeline going out of the generator house is also unsafe, unorganized, unreliable and non-systematic. Due to doors unlocked in the generator room, the pollution is unsafe to stay near such a place. There is no caretaker for the generator as seen in the video and no one to take care in case of any break down or if there is any other problem.
As you can see from the video, the generator is making the loud noise that might disturb the people around that area. Another problem is about the safety, the wire to conduct the electric power to the room at the resort is not safe the protective cover does not cover a whole of system. It is very dangerous if water leak or come inside the pipe. However, this location is suitable for setting the renewable generator both solar plant or wind turbine.
There is no quality assurance, no quality control and no quality engineering.
I think a quiet and a non-polluted environment is getting polluted which is not good because the natures beauty is affected. So I learn from this video that we should always use eco friendly ways and keep the environment safe and pollution free. United industries will push this initiative to be eco friendly with nature and preserve such a beautiful place.
In conclusion, I hope that this generator will be remove on this area and replaced by the green generator which does not make a noise pollution and use the wind energy as a resource
Video4: RAMPF Robotic Sealing VipodLx:
The video illustrates how it is working, faster and more accurate than human the robotic production machine works faster and more accurate that man power, this technology will save a lot of cost in the future. However, for the unsustainable case, since the robotic machine works very fast it can replace 200-1000 labors, when the engineer making wrong design or the robot has defect about the controller program it will cost more from effect of mass production. Moreover, this machine still needs the expert to detect or and to fix when it's not work. The design of the groove in the part was not engineer in an ideal fashion. It was deeper than it was wide in some area. The automation for this robot was able to overcome this design flaw, though, and still create a good seal.
Since the robot injects a highly reactive liquid, safety is a big consideration in the design. The system has an enclosed, pressurized tank system, so employee are exposed to them. The individual components are volatile at 200º C, but the temperatures are controlled by the automation. Once the two components are mixed and the gasket begins to cure 200º C is no longer a concern either. The valves and servos allow for precise control of the mixture.
A screen allows you to monitor the agitators, re-circulation, and pressure, filling level and nucleation of the tanks so they can produce consistent gaskets year-round. In the case of a flaw, the data is traceable back to determine the temperature, pressure, etc. for that particular gasket. The dimensions of quality illustrated include features, performance, reliability, safety quality, and conformance to standards.
In conclusion, it is obliviously that the robot can replace the human in the part of mass production since it is faster and compatible to the requirement. However, in some countries, it will create a high number of loosing jobs from poeple in labor level.
Video5: OKUMA LeanCells VopodLx:
This video has showed the collaboration of three companies, which are Okuma, Fanuc and Chiron, resulted in such a cell design. The process is done to produce aluminum wheels from aluminum casts. In this process first aluminum material called A356 is used and mounted on flange in the correct manner then placed on Chiron drill center are used to drill lugholes. This helps in accuracy of drilling and further the wheel is placed in an appropriate manner for proper finishing with diamond tools. Further robotic automated operations are done in order to put in proper shape. In this data between the machines are not exchanged since it has a process controller controlling each machine. The data change takes places only by coded signals and quality is maintained by gauging measurers. Such a production line allows producing 40 wheels per hour.
By watching this video I learnt that automated systems are very essential in order to remove the margin for error. This can also save time and energy while on the other hand it can also maintain the quality. By using such automated process the margin of waste will be less hence making the system sustainable. At united industries we will implement automated process in order to be sustainable and maintain optimum quality assurance.
This has to be applied with the caution, especially when it comes to safety. Safety is the area in which established rules need to be followed, and if you are giving a lot of freedom to your employees, they can intentionally or unintentionally to disobey some safety measures during the boat-trips. Also, Sam asks of his guides to give instructions to customer how to behave environmental-friendly to Jellyfish Lake, but his own boats can be dangerous for the Lake.
Video6: MINI Quality VipodLx:
First of all, the video illustrates how the automated robotic machines have played in a vital role in constructing the BMW mini assembly line Lean. This video explains robotic framing, welding and lean assembly of BMW MINI outer body. According to the video it was really well to see that the BMW mini employees strictly followed six sigma principles. According to the employee they maintain upper and lower limits in order to have the best quality.
The body was built with the automated machines where the precision of quality was high. For the frame measurement to be accurate they use the laser measurement system. The laser operations are done by lift and shift systems, which gives higher rate of accuracy. Some machines were joining frames and several assembly parts in order to produce basic car design. There were not any errors or defects in any assembly part of car or whole car design because machines were working efficiently and were programmed in accurate way. There are multiple inspection checks in order to maintain the desired level of quality.
The most obvious risky process in this video is the way they shred cabbage. They risk of cutting their fingers, getting cigarette ash in food, and handling the shredded cabbage with bare, unwashed hands. The omelet-making machine, although very interesting, also shows some process risks. The machine looks like it makes about 360 omelets an hour, but the leftover raw egg cannot be easily cleaned, which could lead to health risks.
What I learnt from this case that is because of maintenance the desired level of quality it is highly essential to keep regular checks of the product at regular intervals during manufacturing. Robotic operations are recommended for keeping the quality level high this will also help in keeping the system sustainable. So we at united industries will keep regular checks order to keep our quality level high and robotic operations will be promoted to keep the system sustainable.

This video is the interview of Peter T Rayson, head of Design and Process Innovation at Technology Innovation Center UCE Birmingham. He was talking about IE sections and the relation with engineering projects. Engineering projects and IT projects are vastly different in their outcomes. IT projects are easy to be failure. Engineering projects usually cost a lot more such as materials and labor. Engineering project always enroll lots of resources which may include different fields. IT is useful for current Engineering project. Computer software design tools are used to design virtual model of engine which is stimulate with same tool to find drawback and efficiency of actual engine which reduce a time and cost to design a actual project. In old days the engine is design on production basic and then it is tested for quality and efficiency. Robot is more popular in current factory in order to make more profit to the company. From this video I have learned that my company Amber Inc. can make improvements through the use of object oriented system.
To apply in my company, this video provided me the idea of using technology. The systems would allow my organization to abstract the problem with object models in the processes. Also, it would allow us to make improvements on a product level by having the stable platform of our vehicles and building it up regarding to company requirements. So, to work in in the future, I believe that this system will be spread to many part of the industry around the world and we should focus the fundamental item since the benefit of technology will be able to use in various ways.

The first part is to work with a large number of waste plastic for the process of recycle. The second part is to develop the plastic qualifications and to design with innovation. That will add value of the product. The last part is about the producing by using the automation processing system.

SONY Handycam: This company produces the Video Camera Recorders, the company consumes a lot of plastic materials. Tons of plastic have been used to produce camera’s body. The company is concern to be a potential customer to buy recycle plastic product. Sony Handycam has dimensions of quality in term of features, brandname also durability of product.
Pentax Camera Lens: This company product is similar to the Sony Handycam, it is also categorized in a Potential customer who consume a large number of plastic to produce body of camera and camera lens. Dimensions of this company are Feature of product quality and the performance of camera body.
SEW Eurodrive: The company supplies inverter, drive automation and service furthermore, this company is system integrator. It can support my company work in automation system. The experience of industrial automation of SEW Eurodrive can provide up-to-date manufacturing technology to design the plastic recycle machines and plastic processing machine. Moreover, there is a possibility to be a partner for inventing a new kind of plastic producing machine. Serviceability and reliability are dimensions quality of the company.
International Manufacturing Technology Show, IMTS: To start a new business, it is very necessary to make marketing advertisement to promote the company and to create connection with other companies. Annually attending the IMTS exhibition will help the company to find good partner, customer and suppliers. IMTS has dimensions of quality in term of brandname and serviceability of its exhibition.
Dimension of Quality:
Brand Name Quality: The brand name of the BGRM is very important part the shows what are the main purposes and activities of the company regarding to reusable materials to be produced with creative design and innovated processing. This name also help the customer to remind the company’s main products.
Features: The important features of the company is to reduce the waste plastic that might pollute the environment and cause the harmful to wildlife. Another important feature is to produce the innovative products that will change the way of using camera.
Performance & Reliability: The Company will focus on customer need and amount of sold items to measure the performance. In the case of reliability, the company will work following the requirement of LEED certificates. Another part of performance is the energy generating rate from renewable plant in the company's area.
Durability & Serviceability: All of the process will be tested and controlled by the engineering team and the partner from collaborative companies. After all processes are approved, we will focus on the final product which the quality control and quality assurance engineers will take responsibilities.
Safety Quality: All of the employees are required to attend safety course regarding to the OSHA safety requirement. All the gadgets and machines will be tested in term of safety using. The safety issue is the important aspect of the company that can be divided in the term of employee safety, the processing machines also require to conform the safety standard. Lastly, the final product need to ensure that it's clean and no contaminate sine it's made from waste plastic.
Aesthetics: This dimension will be generated by the R&D and design engineer, the product will design lean to the demography in various genders and ages. The color will be the main innovative from BGRM Company that can make various option to the customers. The design of product will lean to the customer requirements that collaborative companies will help out.
Conformance to Standard: There are many standards that company will conform regarding to each function and part. Nevertheless, the collaborative companies, Sony and Ricoh, will help BGRM manufacturing department to improve the product standard.
Conformance of Eco Standards: In this case, we will separate in two major eco part, raw materials and renewable energy. The product of BGRM will be made by the waste plastic that definitely help the ecosystem to reduce the environmental problem from waste. Another concern is about manufacturing process that will mainly use renewable energy from the solar and wind plants which are created in the company area.

Create knowledge data base in office to help the company workers improve their potential and capability to use the automation machine. Focus on automation and recycle technology, that will make high quality product and capability of production. Concentrate at workers knowledge first and try to improve the processing, the company will create the procedure to the new employee to work lean toward the company's policy and more create innovation. The company will put attention on automation technology since it continuously updates in everyday, we believe that the green technology can improve and recover the ecosystem. We also invest in renewable energy, solar energy, wind energy, that ca be helpful for the company cost in the future.

Making a decision by group of manager, creating the procedure of decision making will help manager to make a decision. Decision making process will control the direction of company, it needs the people who has high experience and well educated to make decisions base on lean to sustainable environment.

Finding the partnership that can share the processing experiences to help the company create the new way of recycle plastic production. The collaborative company, Eurodrive, will be the supplier who provide the production machine part and energy saving system hardware.

After I watched a plenty of video clips from professor Ranky, I was very impressed the beautiful of natural under the deep blue sea. Moreover, these video clip helped me to get an idea to present the objective of my virtual company for go green and sustainable.
For presentation, I will show the video of life under the sea. And then present the process of how the plastic will pollute the environment. The waste of plastic can be harmful to many kinds of natural life. First, air pollution of plastic burning will create greenhouse effect that is one of the reason to the global warming problem that will affect to all life in the world. Second, it can pollute marine life when someone throw waste plastic to the sea or the beach. It obliviously destroys the green environment. Nowadays, there are a huge number of articles that concern and educate people about the environment. I believe that most of people today realizes the problem and want to save the marine life and forest.
My virtual company will help the environment by reuse the waste plastic and also reduce the pollution from plastic burning. Also, it will save the company cost from buying new raw material. Moreover, green energy will be concern by solar energy and wind turbine nevertheless, it’s depend on the location of factory to adapt to the green energy.
Even it might spend a lot of cost for green energy project but I believe that it will be good for environment and ecosystem. And, it will be worth in long term since and good for investment.
In conclusion, I believe that most of people will realize the crucial of natural and why we should focus on sustainable and green energy that will sustain and reserve the ecology system. Including with my presentation that shows the number of waste plastic that is generating environment problem and potential reduction rate that can sustain the environment.

Video1: I-beam Roller Quality:
The video illustrates I-Beam, two trolleys and a bolt. Each of the trolley has two bearings and two rollers. Due to Lack of Quality Control both the trolleys work differently. The rollers in one trolley are fitted perfectly, but in the other, the roller is stuck as the cast has been bent more due to hammering. Thus the stuck roller is unable to rotate and causes friction. This shows poor designing and poor implementation.
The safety and packaging of the brand new material has been compromised to make it low cost equipment and the safety instructions and warning on the manual are missing; instead a soiled manual is packaged. This is a perfect example of Lack of Quality Assurance. Focusing on the roller, one of the wheel in the roller does not spinning that creates fiction between the roller and I-beam. The risky from the low quality product is caused by the poor quality manufacturing control and cheap product design. The fiction from the rollers and I-beam will make the movement unstable and make the process are not sustainable. Another point is the product manual, as you can see in the video, the product manual is very dirty that illustrate the products is made from the company that doesn't not care about the package quality, it also shows that this company has bad environment.
In conclusion, by compromising on design, manufacturing, testing, safety and skilled labor, no company can succeed in a long term business. Hence, I will learn from this example that cost saving does not necessarily earn profit. Instead making a good quality product helps the company sustain and progress towards a better future. I have also learnt that Quality Control is an important aspect and should not be neglected.
Video2: Palua M2012 Long Lake Kayaking Tour:
This video showed the beauty of the kayak trip, the environment that was very impressive. The trip went around some very interesting rock islands, through a channel in the mangroves, and even into a secret lake. The water is so clear, the vegetation so green, and the sounds of cicadas and wildlife so loud, that you cannot help but want to experience it in person.
As beautiful as it is, we are also reminded about how fragile it all is as well. It is great for us to have this video to watch, and must have been even better for Prof Ranky to be there filming it. If man is not care and continues using unsustainable processes, video like this one could be all that remains at some point in the future.The dimensions of quality noted for Sam’s Tours are features, performance, aesthetics, excitement quality, and conformance to eco-standards.
The sustainable and green quality aspect useful for my “5th company” is reinforcement that my processes must be sustainable so that future generations can also enjoy such beautiful places.This video encourage me to make a summer trip for kayaking and sea diving. Nevertheless, first thing that is not sustainable that is grilling sausage and chicken by charcoal. The charcoal is made from carbon and burning the charcoal will pollute the environment around there. Another point is noise, even the speedboat is convenient for traveling with few people but, it makes high noise that might disturb the fish and sea life. So, in my opinion I think that it would be better if we can reduce the noise engine from speedboat.
Video3: Not Green Generator:
In this video, the generator sets in the nice and beautiful area is working and making the loud noise. The environment looks clean and green with air pollution and water pollution and the water body nearby is absolutely clean. But there is problem, the generators makes a lot of noise thereby not confirming the required standards. The pipeline going out of the generator house is also unsafe, unorganized, unreliable and non-systematic. Due to doors unlocked in the generator room, the pollution is unsafe to stay near such a place. There is no caretaker for the generator as seen in the video and no one to take care in case of any break down or if there is any other problem.
As you can see from the video, the generator is making the loud noise that might disturb the people around that area. Another problem is about the safety, the wire to conduct the electric power to the room at the resort is not safe the protective cover does not cover a whole of system. It is very dangerous if water leak or come inside the pipe. However, this location is suitable for setting the renewable generator both solar plant or wind turbine.
There is no quality assurance, no quality control and no quality engineering.
I think a quiet and a non-polluted environment is getting polluted which is not good because the natures beauty is affected. So I learn from this video that we should always use eco friendly ways and keep the environment safe and pollution free. United industries will push this initiative to be eco friendly with nature and preserve such a beautiful place.
In conclusion, I hope that this generator will be remove on this area and replaced by the green generator which does not make a noise pollution and use the wind energy as a resource
Video4: RAMPF Robotic Sealing VipodLx:
The video illustrates how it is working, faster and more accurate than human the robotic production machine works faster and more accurate that man power, this technology will save a lot of cost in the future. However, for the unsustainable case, since the robotic machine works very fast it can replace 200-1000 labors, when the engineer making wrong design or the robot has defect about the controller program it will cost more from effect of mass production. Moreover, this machine still needs the expert to detect or and to fix when it's not work. The design of the groove in the part was not engineer in an ideal fashion. It was deeper than it was wide in some area. The automation for this robot was able to overcome this design flaw, though, and still create a good seal.
Since the robot injects a highly reactive liquid, safety is a big consideration in the design. The system has an enclosed, pressurized tank system, so employee are exposed to them. The individual components are volatile at 200º C, but the temperatures are controlled by the automation. Once the two components are mixed and the gasket begins to cure 200º C is no longer a concern either. The valves and servos allow for precise control of the mixture.
A screen allows you to monitor the agitators, re-circulation, and pressure, filling level and nucleation of the tanks so they can produce consistent gaskets year-round. In the case of a flaw, the data is traceable back to determine the temperature, pressure, etc. for that particular gasket. The dimensions of quality illustrated include features, performance, reliability, safety quality, and conformance to standards.
In conclusion, it is obliviously that the robot can replace the human in the part of mass production since it is faster and compatible to the requirement. However, in some countries, it will create a high number of loosing jobs from poeple in labor level.
Video5: OKUMA LeanCells VopodLx:
This video has showed the collaboration of three companies, which are Okuma, Fanuc and Chiron, resulted in such a cell design. The process is done to produce aluminum wheels from aluminum casts. In this process first aluminum material called A356 is used and mounted on flange in the correct manner then placed on Chiron drill center are used to drill lugholes. This helps in accuracy of drilling and further the wheel is placed in an appropriate manner for proper finishing with diamond tools. Further robotic automated operations are done in order to put in proper shape. In this data between the machines are not exchanged since it has a process controller controlling each machine. The data change takes places only by coded signals and quality is maintained by gauging measurers. Such a production line allows producing 40 wheels per hour.
By watching this video I learnt that automated systems are very essential in order to remove the margin for error. This can also save time and energy while on the other hand it can also maintain the quality. By using such automated process the margin of waste will be less hence making the system sustainable. At united industries we will implement automated process in order to be sustainable and maintain optimum quality assurance.
This has to be applied with the caution, especially when it comes to safety. Safety is the area in which established rules need to be followed, and if you are giving a lot of freedom to your employees, they can intentionally or unintentionally to disobey some safety measures during the boat-trips. Also, Sam asks of his guides to give instructions to customer how to behave environmental-friendly to Jellyfish Lake, but his own boats can be dangerous for the Lake.
Video6: MINI Quality VipodLx:
First of all, the video illustrates how the automated robotic machines have played in a vital role in constructing the BMW mini assembly line Lean. This video explains robotic framing, welding and lean assembly of BMW MINI outer body. According to the video it was really well to see that the BMW mini employees strictly followed six sigma principles. According to the employee they maintain upper and lower limits in order to have the best quality.
The body was built with the automated machines where the precision of quality was high. For the frame measurement to be accurate they use the laser measurement system. The laser operations are done by lift and shift systems, which gives higher rate of accuracy. Some machines were joining frames and several assembly parts in order to produce basic car design. There were not any errors or defects in any assembly part of car or whole car design because machines were working efficiently and were programmed in accurate way. There are multiple inspection checks in order to maintain the desired level of quality.
The most obvious risky process in this video is the way they shred cabbage. They risk of cutting their fingers, getting cigarette ash in food, and handling the shredded cabbage with bare, unwashed hands. The omelet-making machine, although very interesting, also shows some process risks. The machine looks like it makes about 360 omelets an hour, but the leftover raw egg cannot be easily cleaned, which could lead to health risks.
What I learnt from this case that is because of maintenance the desired level of quality it is highly essential to keep regular checks of the product at regular intervals during manufacturing. Robotic operations are recommended for keeping the quality level high this will also help in keeping the system sustainable. So we at united industries will keep regular checks order to keep our quality level high and robotic operations will be promoted to keep the system sustainable.

This video is the interview of Peter T Rayson, head of Design and Process Innovation at Technology Innovation Center UCE Birmingham. He was talking about IE sections and the relation with engineering projects. Engineering projects and IT projects are vastly different in their outcomes. IT projects are easy to be failure. Engineering projects usually cost a lot more such as materials and labor. Engineering project always enroll lots of resources which may include different fields. IT is useful for current Engineering project. Computer software design tools are used to design virtual model of engine which is stimulate with same tool to find drawback and efficiency of actual engine which reduce a time and cost to design a actual project. In old days the engine is design on production basic and then it is tested for quality and efficiency. Robot is more popular in current factory in order to make more profit to the company. From this video I have learned that my company Amber Inc. can make improvements through the use of object oriented system.
To apply in my company, this video provided me the idea of using technology. The systems would allow my organization to abstract the problem with object models in the processes. Also, it would allow us to make improvements on a product level by having the stable platform of our vehicles and building it up regarding to company requirements.
